Can you brief me a little bit about China?

China is situated in the eastern part of Asia on the west coast of the Pacific Ocean and is one of the biggest countries in the world. It has an area of about 9.6 million square kilometers which comprises about 6.5 per cent of the world total land area. Its population of around 1.3 billion accounts for 23 per cent of the world's population. China is the world's oldest continuous civilization. World Travel Organization predicts that by year 2020, China will become the number one travel destination in the world.

China has maintained an upbeat GNP growth momentum in the course of developing the market economy-The new century has witnessed China, the world's most potential market for economic growth, to become the best investment destination for international capital.

With a civilization of more than 5,000 years, China has long been known as one of the great four ancient civilizations including the ancient Egypt, India, and Babylon. The Chinese language, one of the six working languages of the United Nations, is the most ancient and age-old language on the earth, which is widely used by over one-fifth of the world's population. The Chinese square character, with a history of 5,000-6,000 years, is the only ideograph left over in the world.
