Liuzhou-produced vehicles are poised for shipment to overseas markets.
On November 27th, SAIC-GM-Wuling Indonesia Company celebrated the production of its 160,000th complete vehicle, a white new energy vehicle named "Yunduo". As a prominent representative of Liuzhou, the brand “Wuling” has firmly established itself in Indonesia for seven years. This milestone opens a new chapter for Wuling's new energy vehicles, enabling them to "establish a base in Indonesia and extend their reach to the global right-hand drive market", thereby accelerating the "cross-sea relocation of the industrial chain" and enhancing their participation in the Belt and Road Initiative.
It is learned that since entering the Indonesian market in 2017, SAIC-GM-Wuling has launched nine best-selling models and attracted 17 suppliers to establish operations in Indonesia. The company has collaborated with over 50 local industrial chain partners, creating more than 20,000 jobs. Additionally, Wuling has actively contributed to projects such as the China-Indonesia new energy vehicle ecosystem and the Modern Craftsman College, significantly impacting Indonesia's industrial upgrade, employment enhancement, and vocational education.
"Especially, the new energy vehicle models have gained recognition on various international platforms, including the G20 Summit, the ASEAN Summit, and the World Water Forum. Cumulative sales have surpassed 27,000 vehicles, with a market share exceeding 50%, making it the best-selling electric vehicle brand in Indonesia. Wuling has also actively promoted the standardization of the electric vehicle industry and collaborated with the Indonesian government to enhance the new energy ecosystem, facilitating the widespread adoption of new energy vehicles in Indonesia," stated Lyu Juncheng, General Manager of SAIC-GM-Wuling.
According to Liuzhou Customs, from January to September this year, Liuzhou exported 16,188 vehicles to ASEAN, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 549.1%. Of these, 11,905 were new energy vehicles, marking a remarkable year-on-year growth of 41.8 times. This data indicates that new energy vehicles have become the backbone of the city's automobile exports to ASEAN.
