Recently, Liao Xinlu, an edible fungus grower in Luosha Village, Shatang Town, Liubei District, Liuzhou City, has been busy picking fresh straw mushrooms in the greenhouses with his workers. With the sharply dropped temperature, now it is the suitable timing for cultivating pleurotus sajor-caju and edible fungus growers are busy packing the culture medium to prepare for the cultivation of winter edible fungus.

It is learned that the cultivation of edible fungus is one of the main industries in Luosha Village, and the products have entered most markets in Liuzhou. In 2009, Luosha Village established Luobao edible fungus planting cooperative, specializing in the cultivation of pleurotus sajor-caju, Agaricus blazei and straw mushroom. The pleurotus sajor-caju planted by the cooperative even obtained the pollution-free agricultural product certificate issued by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. At present, 16 households grow edible fungus in the village, radiating more than 70 households of villagers to be employed nearby. This year, the planting area of edible fungus in Luosha Village, Shatang Town is 40,000 square meter, with an estimated total output of 1000 tons and an output value of 9.7 million yuan.
