New progress made in construction project of Liuzhou-Wuzhou section of new Liuzhou-Guangzhou Railway

It is understood that the new Liuzhou-Guangzhou Railway has recently made new progress in its Liuzhou-Wuzhou section. At present, a geological investigation is underway at Liuzhou-Wuzhou railway line. Zijin-Yaoshan Tunnel, a key project to start construction in advance, is planned to kick off in April this year. The bidding work for the whole line will be finished in September and full-scale construction will commence in October.

It is understood that the Liuzhou-Wuzhou section of the new Liuzhou-Guangzhou Railway is known to be a Guangxi’s major railway project for building a new pattern of comprehensively opening up to the South, North, East and West. The railway line starts from Jingde Railway Station, a hub of Liuzhou railways, passes Xiangzhou in its southeast, spans Liujiang into Wuxuan, cuts across Zijin-Yaoshan and Xishan scenic spots, and arrives in Wuzhou after passing Guiping, Pingnan, Tengxian and Cangwu. The total length of the whole railway line will be 237.8 km, with 10 stations to be set up along the line, and with a design speed of 160 km/h and a 4-year construction period.
